Comment: Referencing the second paragraph under Figure 4: The text is indecisive about how to identify months as it explains the non-stocking phase criteria. In lines 3 and 5 of this paragraph, June is referred to as the 5th month (I believe this should be 6th month), then in line seven, July is referred to as month six. If there is a demand in January, that is a piece demand in a month, so therefore January is month 1. June should be considered month 6, and November month 11. One might argue that January doesn't count, as we are recording time forward from the first hit, but that doesn't really make much sense in the way we approach this concept. If the above rings true, then Figure 4 should also be modified to match the updated text.

Comment: In the first paragraph on page 8, there are words in italics (repair, maintenance, and operations), and the acronym RMO is listed. This is inconsistent with how we use this acronym elsewhere. Consider changing it to read: "maintenance, repair, and operations" and changing the acronym to "MRO" to align with its use in other modules, and how it is generally accepted in business.

Comment: The last paragraph is overly simplistic and not fully compliant with procurement rules in Canada. In most cases, you cannot just pursue the alternative with that vendor. The safer, standard approach is: Cancel and re-bid or ensure alternatives were allowed from the start. There are trade agreements and procurement laws that need to be followed.

Comment: Turnover and GM ROI Problems and Calculations - Example 1 has cross multiplication first, then a second example, and then it says "or" and has the cross multiplication example again. It is unclear why it has it first, then says "or," and has it again. It looks like the top one should be removed. The cross multiplication should say 175% X 4.5 = 787.5% ÷ 3 = X (262.5%) I'm not sure what the 3X is referring to multiple times on this page, and what the statement "divide each side by 3" and the equation are referring to in relation to calculating the GM ROI with an increase in turns. The 787.5% is the new calculation, and the point of calculations above this.

Comment: The ISO certification process in the ILM appears to be very simplified and inaccurate; from what I read, the process is more detailed. Similar to the following. -Select the Relevant Standard (e.g., ISO 9001 for Quality Management Systems) -Conduct a Gap Analysis - Compare current practices against ISO requirements. -Develop a Quality Management System (QMS) - Define policies, objectives, and processes. -Document Procedures and Records - Ensure all processes are clearly written and controlled. -Train Employees - Everyone must understand and follow the QMS. -Perform Internal Audit - Check compliance internally before external review. -Management Review - Leadership evaluates system effectiveness. -Stage 1 Audit (Documentation Review) - Certification body reviews your documented system. -Stage 2 Audit (On-site Implementation) - Verify that procedures are followed in practice. -Certification Issued - Valid for 3 years upon successful audit. -Surveillance Audits - Conducted annually to maintain certification. -Recertification - Full audit every 3 years to renew certification.

Comment: Notice of Termination - Employee earnings must be paid within 10 calendar days after the end of the pay period in which termination occurred, or 31 calendar days after the last day of employment. Comment: The first sentence in the second paragraph is inaccurate: "If an employee is on vacation at the time of a general holiday, the employee must be given an extra day off with pay." It could instead say: "If a general holiday occurs while an employee is on vacation, the general holiday must not be counted as a vacation day. Eligible employees must still receive their general holiday entitlement." Or, "When a general holiday falls during an employee’s vacation and would normally be a regular workday, the employee is entitled to general holiday pay. The day must not be deducted from the employee’s vacation entitlement. This may be provided by adjusting the vacation schedule or by providing an alternate paid day off."

Comment: First paragraph is incorrect, stating - "If proper notice is given, employees must be paid all earnings due within three days of the termination date. If the employee quits without proper notification, the employer has up to 10 days to compensate the employee." Comment: Bottom paragraph - 'Job Analysis' states - "A job analysis is a study of what jobs are currently being performed." Saying you “review the jobs” is less precise and can be misleading. Comment: ILM states - "Advertising employment opportunities refers to monster.com and workopolis.com." Monster.com entered bankruptcy as part of its parent company’s Chapter 11 filing and was later sold, and workoplis.com was acquired by Indeed in 2018 and now operates as a Canadian‑branded site that displays Indeed job postings. It also states at the bottom of the page that online applications are becoming standard for many large organizations currently. It should state, "Online applications are now common across most organizations, with larger companies using formal application systems and smaller employers using simpler online methods."

Comment: There is a Note - "Although not specified in the Canadian and Alberta Human Rights Act, a disability may include a person's dependence on alcohol or drugs." This statement is incorrect. The Canadian Human Rights Act explicitly defines disability to include any previous or existing mental or physical disability, and includes disfigurement and previous or existing dependence on alcohol or a drug. The Alberta Human Rights Act does not list alcohol or drug dependence word‑for‑word in the statute. However, official Alberta Human Rights Commission guidance clearly states that: Drug dependence, alcoholism, and other addictions may be a physical or mental disability.

The NOA and the HRSDC no longer exist and no longer set the exam and training standard for the Parts Technician Trade, or for any trade. This is now set by the Red Seal Occupational Standard (RSOS) and Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
